About

InvestorLists.vc was born out of Meet.Capital, which provides investor outreach services for early-stage startups.

A couple of years ago, we started gathering lists of investors to help our subscribers, followers, and clients. The first thing we did was to go through investor lists shared around the web and on social media.

What I discovered was very disturbing. Most of the lists circulating on the web have been around for years and are full of outdated information and broken links. Those overused and outdated lists included many listings that point to websites that are no longer operating or have been taken down.

So I asked my team to start reviewing the lists we gathered and make sure that the information in them is updated. We deleted the outdated data and created a trimmed-down, useful version of the lists. We also took the time to collect the necessary information from the websites of the VCs included in the lists, and to check for their preferred investment domains and stages.

By simply putting in this manual effort, we were able to create investor lists that actually save you time and are probably better than any other.

Startup founders, advisors, and investors love and praise our lists in great reviews and testimonials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data do you include in your lists?

Our lists include the name, website, location, description/thesis, domains, stages, LinkedIn company page, and contact email of institutional investors, including VCs, family offices, angel groups, accelerators, and more.

We also have lists of individual angel investors based on our research on the web and on LinkedIn. We provide their name, country, LinkedIn profile URL, and domains of interest (based on keyword searches through their LinkedIn profiles. The angels in our lists are all active LinkedIn users (which means they are more likely to respond if you reach out to them on LinkedIn). They also all have an open or premium profile (or at least they did when we looked at their LinkedIn profile). That means that you can send them an inmail or DM on LinkedIn, for free, even if you are not connected to them. We do not provide emails of individuals since those would require the consent of those individuals.

What is included in your full investor database?

We built a large database of active investors and keep updating it and adding new investors.

The database currently (March 2025) holds more than 16,000 active investors, including:

  • 3,323 active US-basded VCs, family offices, angel groups, and other institutional investors.

  • 2,792 active VCs and institutional investors from the UK, EU, and MENA.

  • 8,000 handpicked US angels.

  • 1,053 handpicked UK angels.

  • And more.

What do you mean when you say the investors on your list are active?

For institutional investors such as VC funds, family offices, angel groups, syndicates, etc., we check that they have an active and live website and LinkedIn page. We also check if they invested in the last 18-24 months, according to public records, whenever possible (we cannot guarantee that holds true for all the investors on our lists, but we do try to check).

When it comes to individual angel investors, we look at their public profile on LinkedIn and check that they are actively investing in startups or sitting on boards and that they describe themselves as investors. We also check if they are active LinkedIn users (which means they are much more likely to respond when you reach out to them on LinkedIn) and have a premium or open LinkedIn account.

How accurate are your lists?

We check our lists periodically. It is mostly a manual process, done by an actual human. Information does change, and humans can make mistakes, of course (AI engines make mistakes too, by the way), so we cannot guarantee that our lists are fully accurate. We do our best to keep high standards.

Our lists are cleaner than almost any other list out there, including very expensive lists that are sold on certain websites.

Why do you recommend connecting with investors on LinkedIn?

The most effective way to connect with new investors is on LinkedIn. Plain and simple.
Cold emailing investors is problematic in many ways. In some jurisdictions, it is prohibited or restricted. You are also risking your email account and domain being blacklisted as spam. Doing it effectively and at scale can be quite a complicated and arduous task.

On LinkedIn, on the other hand, you will get better results and spend less of your time. If you reach out to relevant investors who are active LinkedIn users, you will get the highest response rates and the best outcomes. Out lists help you do just that.

Can I export your lists or save them on my computer?

Yes, the lists we share in our free weekly newsletter are fully downloadable.

When you subscribe to get access to our full investor database, you can run as many searches as you like, use filters (Airtable is very convenient in that sense), open all links, and copy information from the database freely.

When you purchase the yearly subscription plan, you can request to download up to 2,000 investors as per your specific needs (and applied filters).

Unfortunately, we cannot allow unlimited downloads of our full investor database, since that would allow our competitors to take advantage of us and the hard work we put into building and maintaining our database.
